Rest In God

Jesus

I have had several family and friends ask for prayer for difficult situations, that will bring the strongest person to their knees. l can truly sympathize with many of the request, because I have sat in the seat of many of them. God has given me such an amazing peace when bills are due and there is no money to pay, unexplained sickness occurs, my back is up against the wall, and it just seems like hell itself has entered my life.

God has given me the revelation behind Psalms 91 and it starts with the word abide. A simple word, but so important when learning how to rest in God. Jesus tells us that if we abide in Him that he will also abide in us. How do we abide in God? Simple, have a real relationship with Him. Through daily reading, prayer, meditation, being obedient, and having a listening ear, will keep the peace we all are needing in times like these. The bible tells us when we are weak He is made strong, but he can’t be made strong if we aren’t abiding in Him.

I walked in and found my mother died on her floor, my sister died after being admitted to the hospital with signs of an heart attack, my grandfather died after developing lung cancer with in a year of the diagnosis, and my daughter was diagnosed with cancer at age five. I lost my dream home, I fell in love with a man that never loved me back, and I have had people turn their backs on me for my dedication to God.

I have been through the fire but God promised me that I would never be burned. I have learned how to rest, lean, and totally depend on God. I know what it is to have and to have not, to be abase and to abound, to have wants and to have needs, but through it all I know how to be content and fall in the hands of a loving God.

So I encourage you to do the same during these difficult times and know that God is able and willing to do above and exceedingly what your little mind could ever imagine. I am praying for all who feel as though there is no hope left and that God has sentenced you to misery. Just take the time to read the book of Job and understand because he never gave up, God blessed him double for his trouble, and Job’s trouble was indeed great.
